Thanks to Nick Pachelli for sending me a link to find out what my "Mental Age" is. This believes that I am mentally 47: http://cutetest.net/mental/en/
What about you?
I think it is because I like to wake up early and prefer to stay home over going out. Also, I don't know what the cool kids are into. I'm too busy with my audio books to put on the radio!
When I was 21, I decided that I would read all volumes of Remembrance of Things Past by Marcel Proust before I turned 30. This year I will be 27. On Tuesday I downloaded the first volume and off I go! The next six months will be just dreamy.

identification with punctuation
Today's quizsocial report, "What Punctuation Mark Are You?" says this:
Well, I think I would relate to almost all punctuation marks. Punctuation, like feelings, come around continually, not continuously.
That said, I have to admit, my last "short story" was very heavy on questions. More wonderment than statement.
By the way, I think this graphic is exceptionally silly. I wish I had a headband with variously sized question marks hovering over it. Perhaps all I need is some wire, cardboard, paint, and a headband.
Love,
?

Easter morning
I love today. Yesterday was great too. I'm in Campbell for Easter. Last night, my mama and I went out to dinner together to Thai Orchid. She and I have grabbed a quick bite to eat in the past few years, but I can't remember the last time we sat down to such a nice dinner--just the two of us. This morning, I said to my papa, "Dad, did Mom tell you we had a really special dinner last night?"
"She did."
"I think I will remember it for the rest of my life." And then my mom hugged me. It was a really nice way to start the morning! Then Violet showed me how she makes these pieces of art on the iPad, and showed me some new Monster High characters, and then we heard some unsettling news. The crows had been circling and swooping down on the yard, hunting for our easter eggs. We had been letting Hannah sleep, but it was time to wake her up.
When we went out to the yard, we had fun looking, but we only found six of the eighteen eggs, and lots of eggshell remnants. Oh well! The murder had a nice weekend, I'm sure.
We are about to have breakfast together. I love my family.
I keep telling my parents about Ryan, and today, they will finally meet him. I have told them that I am going to marry him and have his babies, so they must be especially excited, given that he will father their grandchildren and become a part of the family. One thing I love about him is that they already treat him like that--there was a piece of candy with his name written on it in my Easter basket.
Another noteworthy life moment: as my father and I left the grocery yesterday, breakfast things and flowers for my mama in tow, my dad asked me when I thought the Easter bunny and Santa would stop bringing me presents. I said I never expect it anymore, and that I am always very grateful for such a nice surprise. He said that it will most likely be once I have my own children. Although I'm not expecting, my hope is that this will be the last year of that for me! I cannot wait to have a family of my own.
Love,
Katie

Nests
My mother made these little noodley krispie treats, and Violet placed the jelly bean eggs on them. Cute!

Fish tacos
I'm waiting for fish tacos. This afternoon's sky is a new sweater, clean and warm, with shiny clear, buttons.
It's take out. Then Ryan and I will be going up to the Bay Area! In the past, as a passenger on those few hundred miles, I've done some crafting: crocheting, beading, embroidery. This time, I will crochet some more.
I have a million yards of yarn. Dozens of skeins ready to twirl into some treasure.
Food is ready!
Bye!
my spirit animal
Ke$ha said my spirit animal was a baby bunny, but that didn't feel right. I think I finally found the answer, thanks to http://quizsocial.com/what-is-your-spirit-animal/
Love,
Katherine
Yes, I do know Bullwinkle.
